DIY Mango Seed Butter Skincare Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 tablespoons mango seed butter
- 1 tablespoon shea butter (optional, for added hydration)
- 5 drops lavender essential oil (for calming effects)
- 5 drops frankincense essential oil (for its anti-aging properties)
Instructions:
- Melt the Butters: In a double boiler, gently melt the mango seed butter and shea butter(if using) until they are fully liquefied.
- Mix and Cool: Remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool slightly, but not harden. Stir in the lavender essential oil and frankincense essential oils.
- Whip the Butter: Using a hand mixer or whisk, whip the mixture until it becomes light and fluffy. This may take a few minutes.
- Store: Transfer the whipped butter into a clean, amber, glass, airtight container. Store it in a cool, dark place.
- Application: To use, with a clean makeup spoon, take a small amount of the whipped butter and gently massage it into your face and neck. Use upward circular motions to promote better absorption and stimulate blood flow. This blend can be used as a daily moisturizer or a nourishing night cream.
- Before using astaxanthin extract skincare treatment on your face, it’s important to test it on a small, inconspicuous area of your skin to ensure you don’t have any adverse reactions. Apply a small amount to the inner wrist or behind the ear and wait 24 hours to check for any irritation or sensitivity.
- Warning Allergic Reaction Possible! A friend of mine gets a similar reaction to poison ivy when she handles mangoes. Please test before using.
