DIY Chamomile Skincare Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon dried chamomile flowers or 1 chamomile tea bag
- 1/2 cup hot water
- 1 tablespoon date syrup
- 1 teaspoon aloe vera gel
- 1 teaspoon jojoba oil
Instructions:
- Brew Chamomile Tea: Place the dried chamomile flowers or tea bag in a bowl. Pour the hot water over it and let it steep for 10-15 minutes. Allow the tea to cool completely.
- Mix Ingredients: In a separate bowl, mix the date syrup, aloe vera gel, and jojoba oil.
- Combine: Once the chamomile tea has cooled, mix it with the date syrup, aloe vera gel, and jojoba oil mixture until you achieve a smooth consistency.
- Store in a clean, amber, glass cosmetic jar.
- Apply: Using a clean, cosmetic spoon (so as not to contaminate the mixture) scoop out some mixture onto clean fingers or a brush, apply the mixture evenly to your face and neck, avoiding the eye area.
- Leave On: Let the mask sit for 15-20 minutes.
- Rinse: Rinse off with lukewarm water and pat your skin dry. Follow up with your favorite moisturizer.
Caution
Before applying the chamomile mask to your face, it’s important to test a small amount on an inconspicuous area of your skin to ensure you don’t have an allergic reaction. Apply a small amount of the mixture to your inner wrist or behind your ear and wait for 24 hours to check for any adverse reactions.
