Rick’s Tomato Sauce

Delicious in Rick’s Lasagna or Rick’s Baked Ziti.

Ingredients:

1 26oz container of Pomi Tomatoes (can be chopped, diced or pureed)

1 16oz can Diced Tomatoes

1 16oz Jar of low salt or unsalted Salsa

1 TBS Balsamic Vinegar

1 TBS Italian Herbs

4 TBS Table Tasty or your favorite salt substitute

1 TBS Onion Powder (unsalted)

1 TBS Garlic Powder (unsalted)

16 oz Water

½ Cup non-fortified Nutritional Yeast

Directions:

Loosely cover and Simmer for 1 hour on stove top so that flavors can blend and marinate.

Combine ingredients in a large stockpot .

Heat on stovetop over medium heat for 5 minutes. Stir occasionally.

Allow to cool.

Store in the refrigerator in a covered, glass container.

Comments:

Add Rick’s No Oil Mushrooms for more nutrients and a meaty consistency. I love to slice mushrooms (and fresh strawberries) with this mushroom slicer! It has serrated blades for easy slicing!
